Kathy AMOS-JACOB

Kathy Amos-Jacob is a well known "household name" in France, as well as in many parts of Europe in a number of her fields of expertise, and comes highly recommended by many of her European contemporaries.

Though a relative "newcomer" to North America, in 1999 she officiated at the Canadian National Dressage Championships as an FEI © judge and President of the Jury, and has conducted numerous popular Clinics in both Quebec and Ontario.

Kathy is married and runs her own active Equestrian establishment near Strasbourg (Alsace), France . She herself competes, teaches and judges throughout Europe in both the Dressage and Combined Training disciplines into the FEI levels.

KAJ is a BEE II (*) Equestrian Instructor at Saumur and an FEI Candidate Dressage Judge. She was the first woman to be accepted to the French National School of Equitation (Saumur) for the NCO course (upon special permission from the President of France, then M. Georges Pompidou).

Competitively, she has frequent placings to her credit in both National and International Dressage competition, including at Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle levels (Waregem, Belgium ; Wiesbaden, Germany ; Les Aspes /Renne / Saumur/ Pamfou, France), as well as in National and International 3 day Event at FEI levels (CCI's).

KAJ is a Licensed National Trainer for both Dressage and Combined Events, and not only teaches internationally, but has trained many winning horses and students for European and French Championships in both of these disciplines, especially at the Young Rider level.

KAJ has produced a series of 6 Pedagogic Video Cassette tapes that start with initial training, progressing through the confirmed stage and on into the upper levels of FEI Dressage. These tapes provide a successive guide for riders and horses, from initial through to the Prix St Georges level. KAJ has recently completed a book entitled "Techniques and Apprenticeship for Dressage" prefaced by Bernard Maurel (International Olympic Judge at the Atlanta Olympics).

She is the National Course Conductor for Coaches and Instructors and is commissioned by the French Equestrian Federation (F.E.F) to provide programs for Basic Education and Teaching levels BEE I and Bee II, and to form a working group to elaborate a new project for the development of national Diploma criteria for Dressage.

As an FEI(C) Dressage Judge, KAJ frequently judges Internationally and welcomes Judging assignments on the American continent.

Also an already established International course conductor, KAJ is also available for Seminars, Workshops and Clinics in the areas of :
Dressage Judges ; competitor preparation (national/International) ; rider preparation from basic to advanced in Dressage, X-country and Stadium jumping ; Pedagogy/teaching techniques/programs for Coaches & Instructors ; establishment of Equestrian Standards and Systems. etc.
